Ishikawa to Donate '11 Earnings to Japan By mustang6560 on 3/31/11
Bubba Watson, K.J. Choi and a few other PGA Tour players earned a "tip of the hat" from me last week for donating money to the relief effort in Japan. While donating $50k and $100k is noteworthy, how about pledging to donate all of your earnings for the entire 2011 season?
Golf sensation Ryo Ishikawa says he is giving all of his tournament earnings this year to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in his native Japan.Ryo's donation says two things to me: 1) Ryo cares deeply for his homeland and wants to do more than donate "something off the top"; 2) He's so confident in his game that he knows he's going to be playing good golf for years to come so he can afford to not keep any of his tournament earnings. It's not everyday you see someone contribute such a (potentially) large amount of money. Granted, it's still early in the season. But, if he plays like he did last year he'll be donating a large sum of money. Full Story photo source [ comments ] no comments posted yet. [ post comment ]
