Earlier today, TaylorMade Golf unveiled their new SpeedBlade™ irons, which will be available for order beginning Monday, September 16 and at retail on Friday, October 4. The irons first appeared on the course when Justin Rose used a prototype SpeedBlade 4-iron when he won the U.S. Open at Merion in June.
The 3-7 irons feature a wider, longer version of their "Speed Pocket" that is the central feature of the RocketBladez irons. The deep-undercut cavity boasts a lower CG for higher launch angles and more distance. In their press release, TaylorMade says the SpeedBlade 6-iron travels almost ten yards further than the 2009 TaylorMade Tour Burner iron, although the loft angles and other technical specs of the SpeedBlades are not yet available for accurate comparisons.
As you can see above, the iron features a two-tone finish, with satin nickel / chrome plating on the sole and dark-gray ion plating on top. The SpeedBlade irons will be available in eight-piece sets (4-AW being the most popular). Stock shafts will be an 85-gram steel shaft (US $799) or VELOX-T in graphite in the following versions: 75-gram (stiff), 65-gram (regular), 55-gram (senior), or 45-gram (women), each at US $899.
Three matching wedges will be available, a 50° "attack" wedge, a 55° sand wedge, and a 60° lob wedge. All have TaylorMade's "ATV" sole for good performance from a variety of lies, and will be available separately for US $100 apiece.
The TaylorMade marketing people consume 1:18 of your time before getting to the details, but here is their YouTube sales video:

10yards further 20 yards further.
how come no matter what clubs i buy it all seems just about the same?
i should be hitting my driver 450yards by now.
my 7 iron should be going 230yards but its still between 150 and 160yards.
spend your money elsewhere people and practice more.
then you have a chance to maybe get better.
