Tiger's El Cardonal Opens By Torleif Sorenson on 12/17/14
Eight years have passed since he hung out his "design shingle," but Tiger Woods is now officially a golf course architect. And like any proud father, he wasted no time sharing pictures of his first creation, the El Cardonal course at the private Diamante Cabo San Lucas club in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
The first Woods design to be constructed and completed opened on Tuesday, with golf writer Ron Green, Jr. snapping photos and posting them on Twitter. As for the course itself, five tees stretch play from 4,960 to 7,433 yards, with some fairly wild-and-woolly obstacles along the way:
The back tees are rated 75.9 with a 140 slope. That said, Tiger himself says that the design is intended to accommodate golfers of a variety of handicaps / shot indices:
The forward tees are rated 63.4/110 for men and 66.2/108 for women. Have you seen an interesting golf story? Tell us about it! [ comments ] Cluope says:
