Ohio's John Hahn Shoots 58
By Torleif Sorenson on 11/18/14
Ohio native John Hahn is the talk of the golf world at the moment. This morning, the Kent State University alum was five shots outside of the 72-hole cut at the European Tour's Q-School at the PGA Catalunya Resort.

Then, aided by a "preferred lies" rule due to soggy conditions all this week, Hahn went out today and shot a 12-under 58:

Because of the preferred lies provision, Hahn's 58 will not count as a European Tour record, but the score still counts at Q-School. Hahn started today in 114th place, and is now into the top 15, with two rounds remaining to play on Wednesday and Thursday. The top 25 finishers get their European Tour card.

The sports information staff at Hahn's alma mater want to remind you where he went to college:

John Hahn, who shot 58 today at Euro Tour Q-School, is an American who played for Kent State and won 2009 Western Am. Played Europe in 2014.
