3M owns and operates this course, which was one of the late architect Don Herfort's first designs when it opened in 1965; Dick Nugent added nine holes in the mid-1980s.

In years past, the course was private for 3M employees and their guests, but the course now welcomes public play. The summer walking rates are $39 on Sundays through Thursdays, then $41 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until noon (carts are $16).
