Perry Maxwell designed the first (west) nine in 1913 by Perry Maxwell over part of a dairy farm that was actually owned by Maxwell. The club advertises two distinctions; as Oklahoma's first course with Bermuda greens and the first Oklahoma club to be affiliated with the USGA. Golf Digest magazine has named Dornick Hills in Oklahoma's top 5 in Oklahoma several times.
