A stunning iconic course, staff and members were extremely welcoming, you must allow enough time to take in the full experience of the burger dogs.
Course was in stunning condition, it deserves another US Open.

Amazing to play such an iconic course. Lots of slope and elevation changes and the course is challenging in hole layout. Doglegs in both directions with moderate tree cover if you go off the fairway. Stay out of the bunkers, especially on 18!

Wonderful condition. I have played it before and I can honestly say it is always the same. Play it if you can and you will not be disappointed.

With all the US Open history on the tough cypress pine lined Lake Course, you might be a bit nervous for a few holes. The blue tees are a good challenge of golf, but on each hole, look back and take a look at the tee boxes for the tips (no tee markers are put out) and be glad you are not playing from there. Maybe if you are better than scratch, let's say a +2 handicap or better, the tips wont be pure torture. Regardless of what tees you are playing from, if you can move the ball both ways off the tee, then you'll have a much better chance at hitting greens in regulation. I say starting from hole 5 onwards, it's about as good as it gets. Oh, and the burger dog at the turn is just about world famous.
