Holston Hills was founded in 1927 and features a course designed by the legendary Donald Ross. Perhaps not surprisingly, HHCC has hosted two NCAA Championships, three Tennessee Opens, five Tennessee Amateur Championships, two Tennessee PGA Championships, and is the annual site of the Southern Appalachian Match Play Championship. Of note here is the 12th hole, a 470-yard par-4 that has been voted the second toughest hole in the state.
