beautiful course, ridiculous greens and pin placements.
no need with greens like that to place pins on a slope.

Hadn't played Prestwick in over 10 years. It is now a fully public course. The course is rough around the edges with lots of brush and wild grass that detracts from a manicured look. Lots of fairway dead patches. Greens were OK, still recovering from the maintenance done in past month.

I liked this course a lot. It had a nice variety of holes. Some had water, there were some links style holes and some just beautiful holes. Fair but tough. Hole 9 is a great hole! Will play again.

Well maintained. Some homes along the course but not very noticeable.

Very disappointed in course condition. We have played many times in past years and course always in great shape this time of year. This year greens were bare with artificial coloring the only thing making them green. Impossible to hold with approach shots since hitting onto hard patch. Fairways were also patchy with many bare spots. Too bad because course is a nice layout that we have enjoyed playing in past. Will not return since many other courses in much better condition. Also at $110 a round vastly overpriced for such poor conditions.

I wanted to play this course for a long time. I played it via a special rate by being a Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Senior, so as far as value is concerned, it was a good deal for me.
Played Oct '12, Bermuda starting to go dormant, fairways a mix of color so overseeding may have been recent. No problems with conditioning at all. The maintenance staff knows their business.
I agree with Putterboy. A very nice mix of holes. Some you have to be careful with your tee shot and layup (if a par 5). others let you swing out of your shoes.
My group was first out, so we had a ranger nearby at all times. The two others I was playing with weren't the fastest, and lost quite a few balls, but we were never lectured about playing too slowly. I was a much shorter hitter, but got lucky when I hit it sideways.
The staff was very friendly, inside the shop and out on the course.
The golf course winds through an upscale community. While the houses are set back from the course, at times it appeared that there wasn't enough trees to keep the houses from being too noticeable.
Definitely wan to play there again.

Great course. I wish I could have warmed up sooner so I played better on the front nine. The course is challenging and the greens were quick.
