This 18-hole parkland course plays around and over the River Mersey, just outside Manchester. The club was formed in 1891, then moved to this site on the River Mersey in 1901. In 1921, the famous architect Alister Mackenzie revamped it into an 18-hole layout. When the British government ran the M60 motorway through the property in 1973, architect Dave Thomas and former Ryder Cup golfer Peter Alliss produced the design that remains today.

Visitors are welcome; the standard walking rates are £40 on weekdays, £50 on weekends and public holidays. Online, junior, and guest-of-member discounts are available, as are memberships.
