This course and club date to 1905 with a design by 1902 Open champion Sandy Herd. Although it seems relatively short at under 6,400 yards, the course has hosted Open Championship qualifying five times.

Visitors are welcome; the standard walking rates are £45/round or £55/day on weekdays, then £50/round or £60/day on weekends and bank holidays.
