The club dates to 1893, although they moved to this site at Field Head in 1905; the second nine opened in 1917. A major land acquisition in 2008 resulted in seven new holes developed over 44 acres of land.

Visitors are welcome at £26/round or £36/day on weekdays, then £35/round on weekends. Various individual and group specials, winter, guest-of-member, and county card-holder discounts are offered, as are memberships.
