Bangor GC opened in 1903 as a nine-hole layout; architect James Braid later designed the current 18-hole course.

Visitors are welcome; the standard walking rates are £27 on weekdays, £35 on Sundays, public holidays, and bank holidays. Societies and groups also are welcome with prior arrangement.
