Muir of Ord is a heathland/moorland course north of Inverness that dates to 1875, although partial architecture credit goes to five-time Open champion James Braid.

Of particular note is the par-3 12th hole, advertised as one of the toughest in Scotland. Meanwhile, the par-3 13th features a tee-shot from approximately 100 feet below the green, which is very small and has bunkers front and right.

Visitors are welcome; the standard walking rates are £25/round or £32/day on weekdays, then £35/round on weekends (carts/buggies are £20). Advance booking is recommended.
