The Killeen Course here hosted the 1996 Curtis Cup matches, as well as four Irish Opens (1991, 1992, 2010, 2011). Two other courses are here as well; the Lackabane course has hosted at least two women's events over the years.

Visitors are welcome; rates vary by course. The Killeen Course peak-season walking rates are €70 weekdays and €90 weekends (carts are €40).

Killeen is the toughest course of the 3 in Killarney, Mahoneys is also very good but do not bother with Lackabane. The golf in Killarney is always vewry challenging and fair and well worth a trip. The scenery over the lake and mountains is spectacular
