Another Wm. Langford classic !

I came in with low expectations because I haven't heard much about this course. But after each hole I got to like this course more and more.

Pace of play - was pretty good as hardly anyone was on the course at the time of tee off. I did catch a slow 4 some on the back nine, that allowed us to play through.

A good value at $27 to ride 18 on a Saturday after 1 PM.

Maintenance - The greens were in great shape, mostly elevated with a lot of subtle breaks, soft and true. I don't recall seeing any bad spots on any green. The only slight down side is that the greens tend to be a little slower. A fair trade off for me.

The fairways were OK for the most part, but some were aerated and in rough shape otherwise. Water only came in to play on the last hole. Bunkers were scarce, but were in good shape with fluffy sand.

One disappointment for me were the tee boxes. The were not built up hardly at all. Many of them were just mowed a little tighter than the surrounding rough. The Blue Tees felt like an add on after thought. Not even marked on some holes. And not indicated on signage around the tee boxes.

I expected more for a Langford course. I suspect that the initial design spent most of the money on the greens, saving on bunkers and tee boxes. Greens set to be aerated on Mon. Sept. 12

Probably the one thing that makes this course only 118 slope from the white, 120 slope from the blue is the lack of hazards in play. I thought the course was tight outside the usual playing area, with wooded fringe area being OB instead of a lateral hazard.

Pro shop was lightly stocked with some equipment and a few apparel items.

No bev. cart service, but water stations on about every 3rd hole.

PS -
For Langford fans Harrison Hills is only 80 miles from here.
