Started at 68° with just a whisper of a breeze, but increased to a 5 mph breeze by round's end. I got off to a horrible start and my iron play was the culprit...again. For some reason, I putted poorly on the outward nine, with two 3-putts. In fact, I didn't do much of anything right on the outward half, except driving the ball. I reach #7 in two shots, but walked off the green with par--very disappointing, to say the least. I also reached #9 in two shots (my first time ever doing that) and had a 12' putt for eagle, but the putt slipped by and I had to "settle" for a birdie. That hole proved to be the catalyst for my play on the inward half. I had an OB on #12, but still managed to play the inward nine in plus 1, so it was pretty nice. I absolutely hate to start poorly, for many reasons, but it did feel good to salvage the round--somewhat. Tomorrow is another day, one from the white tees. Really excited about the possibilities!
