Started at 70°, overcast skies with a good chance of rain, and a persistent 5 mph breeze. Today was a tough day, putting wise. I managed to coax a couple in, but the ones I missed were ones that very well could have gone in had the "golf gods" been smiling down on me. My driver was/is problematic (again) and was the cause of 2 OBs (4 penalty shots). The other two penalty shots were the result of "water balls," one by a sh*nk! I expected to have some difficulty today trying to ensure that I didn't come over the top on the downswing, so I'm not too upset. I did get surprised by the eagle on #7 though, a driver, 5-iron and an 18' putt, which offset some spotty play. Actually, I got a lot out of this round, knowledge-wise, that I'll be able to put to use later this year when the opportunity arises. There are always going to be days like this, as we both know, but I just hope they become few and far between! :)
