This 9-hole course is located about one mile south of campus, on the eastern edge of the city, hard against Mount Sentinel. Access is from South Avenue East, east of Higgins Avenue. It originally opened as Missoula Country Club in 1924, making it the oldest course in the city. But in the 1930s, that club moved to a larger location and abandoned the property. The original 18 holes were reduced to nine, and eventually the university purchased the course in the late 1960s. Since then, all matter of renovations and improvements have occurred piecemeal, including a remodeling of the clubhouse and pro shop in 2002.
The rates for the general public on Mondays through Thursdays are $14 for 9 holes (carts are also $14), then $24 for 18 holes (carts are $28). On Fridays, weekends, and holidays, those rates are $16 and $28 respectively. For UM students, the rates are $12 and $20.
